Responsibilities

Brash Media Group prides itself on its ethical, inclusive, and environmentally responsible practices.

Ethics

We deal with people’s precious family memories, so we want to make sure we deal with you and your media with the highest of integrity.

It means we have to speak with clarity and honesty. There are limits to what we can do to recover and restore your pictures and videos, and we’ll need to assess them before we can give you a definite answer as to their condition.

We also have obligations regarding copyright and privacy protection, and child welfare.

Privacy for Individuals

We’re not going to be sitting in front of the screen with a bowl of popcorn watching your family videos. We do however need to do spot checks on quality, and we will be handling photos, videos, and documents to sort and load them into the scanners.

We follow the Australian Privacy Principals to safeguard your information and works.

Privacy for Businesses

We have a proforma non-disclosure policy that we make available to our clients, and we regularly review our policies and procedures to ensure we meet both our legal obligations and our highest standards. If your business would like to add it’s own clauses, we are happy to negotiate.

Inclusivity

Brash Media Group is a queer-owned and operated company. Additionally, we have experience working with and for people with disabilities and from diverse communities.

We want to make sure everyone feels welcome when they speak with us, and we will make every effort to ensure you are looked after in a manner appropriate to you.

Environmental Reponsibility

We have engaged the services of a company that disposes of old media by breaking down the items into their component parts, which are then more than 99% recyclable.

Copyright

We cannot digitise works to which you do not own the copyright.

Child Protection

The multitude of technologies now available makes it easier to share family photos and videos, but some of those videos may contain depictions of children that within a family are perfectly innocent, but may be seen by others as material for exploitation. We can discuss how to protect these works from nastiness.
